Summer at K-State

Conflict Resolution

The Summer Institute in Conflict Resolution is a condensed version of the 12-month program offered during the school year. By offering the program in the summer, students have the opportunity to add a certificate to their degree without having to push back their graduation date. The summer session is also a great option for professionals who may work only nine or 10 months of the year or who have relaxed summer schedules.

Add This Certificate to Your Degree

Students in the program will learn to address the complexity of people's lives, help them build a sense of community, foster mutual respect and cooperation and teach them to rely on fairness rather than power as a basis for resolving disputes. They will study the dynamics of conflict and how to resolve them, which can improve both their own personal situations and their ability to contribute in the workplace.

Careers in Conflict Resolution

The conflict resolution certificate provides skills and applications for resolving conflicts in fields such as:

  • social services
  • business
  • political science
  • psychology
  • women's advocacy
  • criminal justice
  • communication
