Programs for Apparel, Textiles and Interior Design

K-State Faculty-led Programs

Every summer, Kansas State faculty members lead students on study abroad programs throughout the World.  For more information on programs that will be offered in the coming year, visit http://www.k-state.edu/studyabroad/facultyled/programs/recruiting.htm. Students should investigate and sign up for these programs in the fall and early spring.

Exchange Programs

On K-State Exchange Programs, all students pay in-state tuition and fee rates.

Deakin University in Australia      

Either Deakin campus will put you in southern Australia, just minutes from the beach. While Melbourne is a thriving city, Geelong is a historic port city of almost 200,000 people that is about an hour away from Melbourne. The university has twice won the coveted Good Universities Guide University of the Year award. They offer a wide variety of courses in most majors.

Fachhochschule Trier in Germany            

Classes in Interior Architecture are offered in English located in a small city with a population similar to Manhattan’s. Trier is the oldest city in Germany – it still has Roman ruins! Very close to Luxembourg and France, Trier makes an excellent site for traveling if students tire of exploring the vineyards and rivers surrounding the city. 

International Student Exchange Program (ISEP)                       

ISEP is a consortium of 300 colleges and universities in 42 countries cooperating to provide affordable access to international education for a diverse student population. ISEP students gain intercultural competence through integration into their host institution and host culture while exploring the international dimensions of their academic field. K-State students pay Tuition, fees, room, and board.

Hong Kong Polytechnic University in China

Hong Kong is a fascinating metropolitan city that is in the process of changing control from Britain back to mainland China. 

Mid-America Universities International (MAUI)                   

The MAUI Program enables students from member universities to study at one of the other member institutions for a semester or academic year. Each student pays tuition to his or her home university and takes regular classes at the partner institution. Acceptance is a nomination process, sometimes requiring up to 1 year at most limited locations. Apply Early!

University of Canberra in Australia       

Explore life “down under” in Australia’s capital. This small and vibrant city is filled with students, who enjoy lively cafes and a hopping nightlife. Canberra offers classes in Interior Design and is a tuition/fees exchange.

University of Hertfordshire in England          

Thirty minutes from London, the University of Hertfordshire gives you the best of both worlds: you’ll live in an active university town, but also have easy access to the bustle of London.  Hertfordshire has an exciting Fashion Design program that is designed to develop your creative abilities within clothing design and production. They also have an Interior Design program that focuses on contemporary and future practices in interior and spatial design.

K-State Affiliations

Through K-State Affiliated Universities students pay the foreign university’s tuition and fees.

Denmark’s International Study Program in Denmark                

Copenhagen has an abundance of culture and entertainment, outdoor cafes, transportation, and a small-town atmosphere of friendliness. DIS has an excellent curriculum that includes some studio work and design.

Study Italian language and culture in any of these four beautiful locations! LDM provides a unique cultural education experience, focused on connecting students with the local community. Regular excursions and social activities provide chances to explore the area and meet other students.
