Removing (Discontinuing) an Academic Program

 

Purpose

Use this procedure to inactivate an Academic Program from a student's Program/Plan stack.

Trigger

Perform this procedure when a student has indicated that he/she is no longer interested in pursuing all Academic Plans under a specified Program.

Prerequisites

·         Student must have received necessary permissions to inactivate all required Plans.

Menu Path

Use the following menu path(s) to begin this task:

·         Records and Enrollment  Career and Program Information  Student Program/Plan

Helpful Hints

·         If there is only one Academic Program associated with a given Academic Career, then the effect of inactivating (or Discontinuing) the Program will also be to remove the Career from the student's Program/Plan stack.

·         Ensure that the student has requested to inactivate all Academic Plans associated with the Academic Program to be inactivated.

2.       At a minimum, complete the following required fields to find the appropriate record:

Academic Career

A Grouping of all academic work undertaken by a student grouped into a single statistical record.  KSU will use Undergraduate, Graduate, and Veterinary Medicine careers to designate their students.

Campus ID

K-State issued student identifier.  Also called, the Wildcat ID (WID).

Example:         (left blank)

National ID

O

National identification number issued by the government.  Social Security Number (SSN).

Example:         (left blank)

Last Name

O

Person's last name.

Example:         (left blank)

First Name

O

Person's first name.

Example:         (left blank)

4.       If necessary, select the appropriate Academic Program to inactivate from the list provided.
