Step 12

8.       Click  in the Reserve Capacity region (the higher of the two  buttons).

This will increase the Reserve Capacity Sequence number by 1.

The higher Reserve Capacity Sequence numbers are processed first when checking enrollments.  For populations where a single student can fulfill multiple capacities, they will count toward the higher Reserve Capacity Sequence value.  For example, AGEC 121 has 10 seats reserved for AGEC or AGBUS majors and 10 seats reserved for all AG majors.  In order for the AGEC and AGBUS majors to not count as AG majors, the AGEC/AGBUS reserve capacity must have the sequence number of 2.

9.       Go to Step 6.

10.     Click  in the Reserve Capacity Requirement Group region (the lower of the two  buttons).

11.     Go to Step 6.

12.     Click  .

Result

You have successfully added Reserve Capacity to a Class Section.

Comments

Reserve Capacity will be manually attached to class sections.  An alternative to us ingReserve Capacity for an entire Class Section is to use Enrollment Requirement Groups that can be added at the Course or Class level.

The primary use for Reserve Capacity is to set aside a specified number of seats for a specified population(s).

Setting any Reserve Capacity Cap Enrl value to 0 will cancel ALL Reserve Capacity limits.  If you have multiple populations for which seats are being reserved and you want to cancel one set of reservations but still enforce the other, set the "canceled" reservation to 1, instead of 0.
