Officer Responsibilities

President

  • Assess chapter interests and needs when planning agenda.
  • Set up calendar of events (i.e. meetings, programs, initiation).
  • Fill appointed offices.
  • Delegate duties to officers and chapter members.
  • Think globally: be aware of other Sigma Tau Delta chapters throughout the nation.
  • Serve as a beacon of enthusiasm for the chapter! 

Vice President

  • Attend all meetings.
  • Preside at organization meetings in the absence of the President.
  • Direct constitutional updating and revision.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the President. 

Treasurer

  • Attend all meetings.
  • Prepare organizational budget.
  • Prepare budget requests for Student Governing Association (SGA).
  • Audit books twice per term in collaboration with Faculty Sponsor.
  • Maintain financial history of organization.
  • Inform executive board of all financial matters.
  • Coordinate fundraisers.
  • Make quarterly reports of all receipts and disbursements.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the President.

Secretary

  • Attend all meetings and keep accurate minutes.
  • Distribute the minutes soon after each meeting.
  • Remind members of upcoming events and activities.
  • Keep membership list up to date.
  • Responsible for all chapter correspondence.

Public Relations Officer

  • Attend all meetings
  • publicize meetings, programs, and fundraisers.
  • Update social media: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram....
  • Create posters and fliers for upcoming events
  • Take pictures of events, fundraisers, and members
  • Arrange for a group photograph of the chapter members for the campus yearbook.

Historian

  • Attend all meetings.
  • Maintain all records for the chapter, such as the scrapbook, written history of chapter, photographs, videos, newsletters, newspaper clippings, etc.)
  • Display the above mentioned materials at Sigma Tau Delta functions.
