Parent's Club

The Sigma Kappa Parents' Club is an organization made up of parents of Theta Tau members. The Club was created to enhance the quality of life for members of Sigma Kappa Sorority. The members of Parents' Club offer their time and talents to make improvements to the chapter house, raise money to purchase needed items, and attend Sorority events to offer support. By providing this help and support, the Club hopes to demonstrate to daughters that their parents are committed to the success of their Sigma Kappa experience.

Any parent of a Sigma Kappa member is eligible to be a member of Parents' Club. There is a $25 membership fee to join. However, parents are welcome to participate in activities and assist the Club in their endeavors regardless of being a paid member. A newsletter is sent to parents each fall and spring to give updates about the Club's activities and upcoming events. If you are interested in getting involved, please contact us.

Parents' Club hosts several fundraising events throughout the year. In the fall, the Club helps park cars in the chapter house parking lot during K-State football games. In the spring, Sigma Kappa moms donate items for a silent auction and raffle. In the past, money raised through these events has helped to purchase computers, washers and dryers, a big screen TV, and new curtains and blinds for the dining room. The most recent purchase made by Parents' Club is the beautiful Sigma Kappa stone in the front yard of the chapter house.

Each summer, Parents' Club organizes two work weekends where members and their parents are encouraged to come to the chapter house and do maintenance tasks, landscaping, and painting. The effort put forth during these summer weekends helps to keep our house beautiful and in tip-top shape for formal recruitment each fall.

Parents also enjoy spending time with their daughters and have a special weekend each semester to do so. The Chapter members host Dad's Weekend in the fall and Mom's Weekend in the spring.
