The Sigma Kappa Foundation
In 1962, the Sigma Kappa Foundation
was established for the purpose of supporting the Sorority's charitable
organization and providing scholarships, educational
activities, and materials for the members of Sigma Kappa.
Currently, the Foundation exists to be the fundraising
entity for our sorority and continues to provide
scholarships.
It also is responsible for providing grants for Alzheimer's
Disease research and gerontology studies.
The Foundation has been an important part of our sorority for the past 40 years and has played an important role in the development of our members and society.
1874 Society
There are many levels of giving within the Foundation. One society that is available to collegiate members exclusively is known as the 1874 Society. Membership within this special giving program requires an annual gift payment of at least $18.74. A unique dangle, to be suspended from our badge, is then available to collegians to signify each year of their membership within this program. All donors are recognized in the "Roll of Honor" of the Sigma Kappa Foundation Annual Report which appears in the autumn issue of the Sigma Kappa Triangle, the official magazine of the Sorority.
