Federal Direct Loan Master Promissory Note

Since the Federal Common Origination and Disbursement (COD) System has notified our office that your Federal Direct Loan application has been successfully accepted for origination, you can now complete the next, necessary promissory note step in acquiring your loan.

We will not be able to disburse a Federal Direct Loan to your student account until the COD has a valid Master Promissory Note (MPN) on file for you.

Complete your Master Promissory Note

We suggest you have your federal PIN as well as names and addresses of two different references handy before signing into the above Web site. The Federal Direct Loan Origination Center at 1-800-557-7394 (select option 3) will be able to assist you if you encounter any problems while completing the online MPN.

After you have successfully completed your Federal Direct Loan MPN, any future Federal Direct Loan offers you choose to accept while attending K-State will be associated with your original MPN for up to 10 years.

If you do not have access to the Internet to complete your Federal Direct Loan MPN online, please contact us to request a paper MPN.

Choosing to complete a paper MPN may delay the disbursement of your loan, since our office will be required to mail your completed MPN to the Federal Direct Loan Origination Center for review and approval.
