federal work-study
Consideration for Federal Work-Study is given to students who demonstrate financial need and meet K-State's priority date for submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). For the 2008-2009 academic year, our priority date is March 1, 2008. You must indicate on the FAFSA that you are interested in work-study as part of your financial assistance.
Federal Work-Study is a program that helps you earn money for college by working on campus. Approximate annual amounts are between $800 to $2,500. Most jobs are on campus and pay by the hour. You are responsible for finding a work-study job and must be enrolled at least half time (6 credit hours per semester for undergraduates or 5 graduate credit hours per semester for graduates).
If you have accepted a Federal Work-Study award, you may want to begin your job search by reviewing the job opportunities found on the K-State Career and Employment Services part-time job list. You could earn $2000 to $6,240 a year by working 10 to 30 hours a week on campus.
If you are planning to use your Federal Work-Study funds for only one semester, please notify the Office of Student Financial Assistance to make the necessary adjustments to your financial assistance.
