Seeing Gender: Tools for Change is a project designed to develop and test an interactive CD-ROM set for use with pre-service, in-service, and college faculty in STEM fields.
The goal of the project is to increase the number of STEM teachers and faculty members who are taking steps to reduce gender bias in their classrooms and programs.

The set will:

  1. introduce the user to the research base on gender and gender socialization,
  2. sensitize these educators to the inadvertent gender bias that operates in STEM classrooms and programs,
  3. provide classroom strategies and interventions designed to reduce bias, and
  4. present school-wide or department-wide efforts to increase the presence of women in STEM classes and programs.
