Population Studies

Demography as a Ph.D. Area of Concentration: There is now the possibility for Ph.D. level graduate students in sociology to take a comprehensive exam in demography as a concentration area. Demographers study the size, composition, and distribution of human populations and how these factors interrelate with aspects of economic, political, social, cultural, and environmental systems.
