- Natural Resources, Ecoforecasting and Population Dynamics
This research and education activity is embedded into the GRoWE Consortium, and study the changing management of water resources, the transforming rural landscape and changing land use. It focuses on Kansas and the Great Plains Aquifer, linking population dynamics to ecological resources. See the program website for details.
- Rural Development, Work, and Poverty in the North Central Region
This project is conducted in collaboration with the North Central Regional Center for Rural Development. Please contact Dr. Richard Goe for further details.
- K-State Community Collaboratory
This program is a Collaboratory Model for Communities in Rapid Transition, initiated by a rapid population expansion in Manhattan resulting from the Department of Defense Base Realignment and Closure Plan (BRAC), recommending that several military units relocate to Fort Riley. See the program website for details.
The Kansas Population Center is the central actor in population research at K-State. We place strong emphasis on collaborative, cross-disciplinary research. Many of our research projects focus on Kansas or the Great Plains as part of our mission, but the KPC also connects our affiliates to national and international programs.
