Interests: Crime, Delinquency, Intimate Partner Violence, Family
Dr. Melander's research interests broadly include crime, deviance, and family, and many of her projects emerge from the intersection of these substantive areas. In particular, she is interested in a variety of youth and young adult issues including partner violence, delinquency, substance use, mental health, and homelessness. Currently, Dr. Melander is working on a project that extends the extant research on partner violence by examining the correlates of partner cyber aggression among college students. Her research has appeared in peer reviewed journals such as Social Science and Medicine, Violence and Victims, Journal of Interpersonal Violence, and CyberPsychology, Behavior, and Social Networking.
