SAFEZONE TRAINING FOR ALL CAMPUS

CONTINUING EDUCATION SESSIONS

To more fully benefit the campus, registration for the Continuing Education SafeZone trainings will be open to all interested parties.

Attendance at an Advanced SafeZone Training, however, does not it itself qualify the attendee as an SafeZone Ally.

The following training sessions are being planned for the 2009-2010 academic year.

FALL 2009

Ally Networking: Wednesday 09/09/09. 2:30-4:30 p.m. in Union 212. This fun and informative session will be open only to individuals who have completed any SafeZone Ally Introduction training in the past. Allies will receive their registration information by email.

Build skills for managing conflicts and dealing with other people's anger. Please consider registering for both in order to get the full skills. Please contact Dori at safezone@ksu.edu if you have questions about this workshop series:

Fighting for a Life - GLBTQ Individuals and Suicide Risk: Wednesday 10/28/09, 12:30-2:30 p.m. in Union 206

Learn about the impact of issues such as discrimination and fear on the lives of GLBTQ individuals and how providing a SafeZone can help decrease the risk of suicide.

To become a SafeZone Ally, you must have attended ONE "Becoming an Ally" Introduction Session (previous year or current year) and agree to attend at least one Advanced session per semester.

What:  "Respectful Work Relationships" (Course # WTD125).
When:   9-11 AM , Tuesday , September 22, 2009 (Session 1) and again in December.
Where:  213 K-State Student Union.
