Safe work practices also involve good common sense.  Keep chemical containers closed when not in immediate use to keep vapors inside the container and prevent spills.  Keep the amount of chemical you use to a minimum.  More is not necessarily better when it comes to using chemicals.  That goes for ordering chemicals.  Buy the amount you need, not a five gallon container just because you can get it on sale.  Take steps to avoid skin contact by carefully handling chemicals when you are pouring them.  Keep your nose away from chemicals and use the chemicals only in well ventilated areas.  And, obviously, don’t eat or drink when handling chemicals.   This is not rocket science folks!
