Chemical Health Hazards

There are a wide variety of health effects that can occur when you are overexposed to a chemical.  Before we talk about some of the specific health hazards of the chemicals you work with we want to discuss some general concepts that you are likely to see mentioned on an MSDS.
Chemicals can enter your body when you breathe them in (inhalation), when they come into contact with your skin (contact/absorption), or when you swallow them (ingestion).  These are called routes of exposure.
