The Department of Environmental Health & Safety is responsible for compliance issues related to environmental health and safety. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Environmental management (air, water, & waste)
  • Ionizing & non-ionizing radiation
  • Sanitation and water quality
  • Fire prevention and emergency equipment
  • Accident prevention and investigation
  • Occupational safety and health
  • Industrial hygiene and toxicology
  • Indoor air quality and "sick building syndrome"
  • Asbestos & PCB's (TSCA)
  • Laboratory safety & chemical hygiene
