Waste/Recyclable Item Who picks it up?  How soon before it is picked up? Can I get replacementcontainers?
Animal carcasses EH&S, you may also take them to Dept. of Diagnostic Medicine & Pathobiology at Vet Med., 2-4349 (there may be a charge) No time limit, should try for 3 days.  In the summer we may wait until just before the medical waste truck arrives (once/month).  Animals should be kept frozen until picked up. Broken glass It is up to each bldg. The custodian or the lab personnel take it, boxed up, to the trash.  Glass should be placed in boxes to avoid cuts to personnel removing the trash.  NA You can order broken glass boxes thru lab supply companies.
Computer media-tapes, discs, floppies, transparencies No one. All media leaving the control of the responsible dept. must have all Univesity data purged. See PPM 3436 at www.k-state.edu/policies/ppm/3436.html No time limit – must be in a taped up or sealed box.   No
Computers, monitors Facilities, call 2-6446 (there may be a charge) NA NA

Hazardous waste, expired chemicals EH&S 3 days or less from the date of your phone call.  Call when your waste container is full or, preferably, just before it is full and write the full date on the label. Only for solvents, may provide drums for certain items 
Household hazardous waste No one – make appt. with EH&S, 2-5856 NA NA

Tires No one - tires must be taken to the Riley Co. Transfer station or to Burnett's Automotive. There is a $2.00 fee for regular car and truck tires and a higher fee for larger tires. NA NA
