Welcome to the home of Powercat Motorsports
Right now, things are pretty quiet around the shop, but will all change once classes start backup. The First meeting of the New Year will be on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009.
Team Updates:
- Chassis Team - Several New Frame Designs are being test in FEA through Cosmos.
- Body/Ergonomics Team - Research in a thermoformed plasic body continues.
- Drivetrain Team - Design of CNC uprights and rear imbound brakes is going very well.
- Engine Team - After a evening of tuning, the car is putting 72 bhp down at the wheels.
- Suspension Team - Has finished designing the A-arms and are moving on to the rack and pinion mounting.
- Business Team - Wrapped up the sponsorship packet, and is looking contacting past years sponsors.
And we take pride in doing it
The K-State Formula SAE Team is a completely extra-curricular activity. Our car is completely funded by the students through corporate and individual sponsorships and donations. The College of Engineering and Department of Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering support the team by helping to pay for travel to competition.
We meet Tuesdays and Thursday in Rathbone 3034 at 7:00pm. All K-State students are welcome and encouraged to join the team, all majors, no experience required.
