Unsuccessful Roundabout with Train

A French Roundabout with a rail line through the middle with trains going through every 6 minutes. This one was built as part of a city redevelopment at the insistance of the architect and against the advice of traffic engineers. The picture is taken from a parking lot on top of a bus station with autos and buses exiting the lot and station also enter the roundabout. The result is that there are insufficient gaps for traffic coming from the top of the picture to enter the roundabout. If you look closely, you can see a very long queue--it appeared to be over one-half mile long as we stood there. (This picture was taken during evening rush-hour traffic)
