We here in Chattanooga built our first roundabout (the first one on a state and U.S. route in the state of Tennessee) in 2001. It's located on U.S. 41/76, S.R. 8 (Westside Drive) at 29th Street, immediately west of the Bachman Tunnel under Missionary Ridge. I have attached some photos for your records. It is a single lane roundabout.
Also, Nashville built the state's first roundabout in its Music Row district, near the Grand Old Opry at the intersection of Demonbreun Street and Division Street and Music Square East. As you can see in the photos, they used stamped, colored concrete to simulate piano keys on the circular roadway around the center island. It, too, is a single lane roundabout.
