Kansas EPSCoR Programs

The National Science Foundation Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (NSF EPSCoR) was established in 1978 in response to broad public concerns about undue geographical concentration of federal funding of academic research and development (R&D). Eligibility for EPSCoR participation is restricted to those jurisdictions that have historically received lesser amounts of federal R&D funding and have demonstrated a commitment to develop their research bases and to improve the quality of science, mathematics, and engineering research conducted at their universities and colleges. Kansas is among eighteen states and the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico currently participating in the program.
