IACUC meetings are typically held the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month. Please note that proposals must be received by the University Research Compliance Office (URCO) by close of business on the first and third Thursday of each month-- 2 weeks before the next regularly scheduled meeting for USDA Pain Category D and E proposals and major modifications. This submission deadline is necessary to process the proposal, distribute it to committee members, and arrange for full committee review. Pain category B or C proposals are not automatically subject to full committee review, but do require approximately 20 days for IACUC approval. If stipulations are made by the IACUC, the time required for all proposals will increase, regardless of their pain category.
Timeline for Proposal Approval:
USDA Pain Category B or C: approximately 20 days if no stipulations
USDA Pain Category D or E: approximately 2 weeks if no stipulations
This is a listing of the regularly scheduled IACUC Semi-Annual inspections which are held twice a year, once in October and once in April. The committee will conduct reviews of program and facilities using standardized OLAW checklists designed for that purpose.
