Request for Course Section Update:

Add New Section

To add a class section offered on campus, complete the Request for Course Section Update form and fax it to Enrollment Services at 785-532-3498 or deliver to 118 Anderson Hall. If class section is a Continuing Education or Salina class section, contact the appropriate office. Case sensitivity (upper/lower case) is not a factor in completing this form. Submitted incomplete forms will be returned for additional information. The completed form is required for record keeping purposes; therefore no telephone requests will be accepted. Requests will be processed as soon as possible and confirmation will be sent from Enrollment Services.

Class TypeUse drop down, select appropriate class type, enrollment = graded, or non-enroll = non-graded
Associated ClassLeave blank
LocationUse drop down, select appropriate location, i.e. MAN - Manhattan
Class TopicFill in topic if a variable title section, i.e. Top/ASI. (30 characters)
Instruction ModeUse drop down, select appropriate value. Further reference on iSIS Help.
Attribute 1-4Use drop down, select appropriate class attribute value and corresponding percentage value (must total 100%). Further reference on iSIS Help.
MEETINGS
Facility IDFill in if department space, i.e. BH 002. If General Use Classroom or Hi Tech Classroom is requested, fill in ZZZZ's. For further reference see the Facilities Table
Meeting StartFill in start time, i.e. 09:30. Use drop down, select am or pm.
Meeting EndFill in end time, i.e. 10:20. Use drop down, select am or pm.
Day(s) of the WeekUse drop down, select appropriate days, i.e. MWF
Start/End DateDate of the term, first day of term through last day of term, not including finals week. Non standard dates need to match the date entered on BASIC DATA information.
EmplidFill in instructor's Emplid (iSIS employee ID), if the instructor is unknown, department head's Emplid must be used.
Instructor NameFill in instructor or department head's name
Instructor RoleUse drop down, select appropriate role, i.e. primary instructor
PrintCheck if instructor name is to be printed in class section listing
AccessUse drop down, select appropriate access, i.e. Approve
ENROLLMENT CONTROL
Class StatusUse drop down, select appropriate status, i.e. active
ConsentUse drop down, select appropriate consent, i.e. No Consent
Requested Room CapFill in requested room capacity, i.e. 30. This number needs to match Enrollment Cap.
Enrollment CapFill in requested enrollment capacity, i.e. 30. This number needs to match Requested Room Cap.
Wait List CapFill in requested wait list capacity, i.e. 99. If not using wait list, set to 0.
1st Auto Enr SectionFill in if appropriate, i.e. 01Q
2nd Auto Enrl SectionFill in if appropriate, i.e. 01R
Auto Enrl from Wait ListCheck if using wait list
NotesFill out any note needed for the section, i.e. class section offered on K-State Online
CLASS ASSOCIATIONS
Min UnitsFill in appropriate units, i.e. 3, for a class section that is variable units
Max UnitsFill in appropriate units, i.e. 6, for a class section that is variable units
ComponentsIf credit carrying component is listed above in Basic Data Component then leave blank. If adding non-credit carrying component in Basic Data Component then fill in the credit carrying component.
Grading BasisUse drop down, select appropriate grading basis, i.e. graded

Change Existing Section

Example 2If currently in a General Use or Hi Tech Classroom and requesting a change in times, days, or dates, fill in the appropriate changes and fill in ZZZZ's in Facility ID
Example 3If currently in a General Use or Hi Tech Classroom and changing to department space, fill in times, days, dates, and the Facility ID

Timetable

Summer/Fall Term

All changes requested before mid February (date will vary each term) should complete the Request for Course Section Update form and submit to Enrollment Services. All changes requested after mid February (date will vary each term) should contact Room Scheduling, rooms@k-state.edu.

Spring Term

Changes requested before mid September (date will vary each term) should complete the Request for Course Section Update form and submit to Enrollment Services. Changes requested after mid September (date will vary each term) should contact Room Scheduling, rooms@k-state.edu.

Cancel Existing Section

To cancel a class section offered on campus, complete the Request for Course Section Update form and fax it to Enrollment Services at 785-532-3498, or deliver to 118 Anderson Hall. It is the departments' responsibility to contact students. Be sure to have a list of enrolled students from iSIS before requesting to have a section canceled.
