Programs Offered
Community First Aid & Safety Course
Description:
This is an 8 hour course that includes training in Adult, Child, and Infant CPR and First Aid. Participants will learn to recognize and care for breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, infants, and children; controlling bleeding; and many other useful skills.
Cost: $55**(Includes Book and Materials)

CPR and First Aid Challenge
Description:
An option for those whose certification is about to expire or has already expired. Participants should feel comfortable completing the written and skills test without any formal review. Participants will have 30 minutes to an hour to practice skills on the manikins. If you do not have a current book for the course, you will be required to purchase one for an additional $15.00. The current book title is "First Aid/CPR/AED for Schools and the Community."

Basic First Aid
Description:
This course teaches First Aid skills only. No CPR. This class last 4 hours and is a one day class. You will pick up all materials for the class the day of the training.

Description:
If you have a computer meeting the minimum operating system requirements* that has Internet access, you can participate in an exciting new Blended Learning format from the American Red Cross. The first part of the training is taken online, which allows you to learn at your own pace. You also have the option of going through the course in an abbreviated format and testing out of lessons with which you may already be familiar. And you don't need to worry about interruptions at home from kids, phone calls, or ringing doorbells. Red Cross web-based training can be stopped and started according to your busy schedule.
The second part of your training will be led by an instructor at the American Red Cross of the Flint Hills office. This approximately two-hour practice and assessment session will ensure that you learn the skills necessary to save a life in an emergency. A list of skills practice and assessment training date are listed below.

- First Aid
- Automated External Defibrillation (AED)

Blended Learning - Skills Practice and Assessment Sessions
Description:

This is a list of what you need to do to participate in the different activities of the club. All members must still participate in at least one blood drive shift in the spring and fall semesters. Check the News section for upcoming dates & times of blood drives and the training requirements.

Optional: Attending one of the following courses will allow you to participate to a greater degree on the Disaster Action Team. Call the Office for an updated list of offered classes.
