What did you see?

Our results show that recognizable scene images produce very strong scene gist masking. Recognizable masks cause stronger masking than masks with the same spatial frequency and orientation information, but which are unrecognizable. This suggests that recognizable meaning may also cause masking (for more details, see Loschky, et al., in press).
