Any personal information (e.g., extracurricular activities)

When asked to list his extracurricular activities, a wise professor from England once responded, “…and waving at cows.”  As for me, when I’m not doing schoolwork, research, or work – or waving at cows – I enjoy a variety of extracurricular activities including volunteering, horseback riding, yoga, and going to the gym.  I’ve also recently acquired somewhat of an affinity for snowshoeing, although the lack of fluffy precipitation in Kansas makes that difficult to pursue.  Local “hotspots” I frequent include Konza Prairie, City Park, and Radina’s Coffeehouse.  I enjoy photography, drawing, writing poetry and prose, and singing…although I have never claimed to thrive in these areas, I simply enjoy them (“Jill of all trades…”).  I love relaxing with a good movie or some good music while journaling or scrapbooking.  As do many graduate students (with our noses in professional journals), I also enjoy reading, and have an increasingly long list of books that I want to read “for fun” – some day!  Last but certainly not least, I love traveling both domestically and internationally, a passion that began at a young age, having grown up in Australia and England.
