Description of Research

Sexual harassment costs employers a great deal of time and money each year. It also causes physical and emotional injury to victims. In order to prevent incidents of sexual harassment from occurring in the workplace it is necessary for the victim to report each incident of sexual harassment to his/her employer. Pamela's research uses the Theory of planned behavior to determine whether an individual intends to report an incident of sexual harassment if they should be the target of such behavior. People that intend to report an incident are more likely to report if they should experience sexually harassing behavior. This information can then be used to develop training programs that will empower victims of workplace sexual harassment to report the incidents.
