Description of Research

Why is it that artistic talent is a skill reserved for few?  My Master’s Thesis began to address issues involved in perception of to-be-drawn objects by investigating the role of various bands of spatial frequencies in the drawing process.  As a member of the Visual Cognition Lab I am also involved in a very productive research program investigating the low-level perceptual processes that are active during scene perception.  The majority of this research concerns factors that influence individuals’ ability to perceive the gist of a scene at very early processing times.

As a Consortium student working at the Army Research Institute I am also involved in a wide range of applied research concerning Field Leadership and Development.
