Round One Funding Results
2003-2004
In answer to the initial Targeted Excellence RFP that was extended in September 2003, 54 pre-proposals were received for consideration. Of these, 14 were chosen to submit full proposals, with 9 of those receiving funding. The full proposals listed below are those that received support. Recommendations for those proposals to be funded were made by a panel of reviews from on, and off, campus chaired by K-State Associate Professor Kevin Lease (Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering). The panel's recommendations were forwarded to Provost James Coffman, who made the final decisions regarding allocation of funds--$1,250,000 for the first year's proposals, with the total amount allocated over 5 years being $5,380,000.
