Since the Fall of 2004, the university has engaged in a very active Priority Setting Process that has included the identification of priorities at the university, college and department levels. These priorities will guide faculty recruitment and allocation of resources so that units can leverage the expertise of our faculty members to elevate the national recognition of their efforts.
The University has engaged in a consistent strategic planning process since 1986. This process is driven by the University Mission Statement as approved by the Kansas Board of Regents. The major materials that resulted from these efforts are provided here.
As a Land Grant University, K-State has, as one of its fundamental missions, the application of research, teaching, and outreach for the betterment of the quality of life for the citizens of Kansas
A working group has been charged with identifying the characteristics of programs in general which, within K-State's mission, obligations to stakeholders, and strengths, would help us reach the goal of becoming a Top 10 Land Grant Institution.
Senate Bill 647 brings "Performance-based Funding" to Kansas public postsecondary education in the form of Performance Agreements. K-State's goals, indicators, targets, and narrative for 2005 are provided here.
