Special Assistant to the Provost

 

This new position is a single-semester, non-renewable, quarter-time appointment designed to provide an opportunity for individuals considering a move into academic administration to work in a high-profile setting and gain valuable experience. Responsibilities include: (1) assisting with special initiatives linked to the Provost's priorities, (2) obtaining background information on emerging issues, (3) writing reports, (4) preparing executive summaries of lengthy reports, and (5) in general, providing assistance to the Provost in a number of areas. Appointments will be made each year for the fall, spring, and summer semesters. The Special Assistant to the Provost will attend relevant meetings and acquire experience in administrative procedures and practices through both observation and participation. Funding for this position is being provided under the auspices of K-State's NSF ADVANCE project.
