11 a.m. to 2 p.m., International Open House
Location: International Student Center
Sponsor: Office of International Programs
We plan to have an International Open House at the International Student Center. We will have various international flags displayed in the front of the building welcoming people to the Open House. We plan to have the International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS), Study Abroad Office, English Language Program (ELP), and International Coordinating Council (ICC) represented at the Open House, answering questions and providing information about their respective programs. Specifically, ISSS will have information available regarding their programs, including Coffee Hour, Basic Language Training Program, and Speaker's Bureau. Various international student association groups will also be represented, displaying and talking about elements of their culture and heritage. The Study Abroad Office will have information available regarding their programs, which include a variety of country exchanges and provider options. They will also invite students involved in Study Abroad Mentors (SAM) and other office organizations to share information with interested students. To provide onsite coordination, the office will also schedule appointments for students interested in meeting with Peer or Study Abroad Advisor to research their study abroad options. In general, we envision this as a chance for students and anyone interested in visit the International Student Center, learn about the various programs and services the ISSS, Study Abroad and ELP Offices have to offer, and give everyone a change to meet K-State's international community. We are also planning to have light refreshments available.
