research interests: Dr. Leatherman delivers outreach education programs and conducts applied research related to local economic development, public finance, infrastructure, public service organization, intergovernmental cooperation, environmental quality, and local/regional planning. His interests include the efficiency and effectiveness of local public service delivery systems, local economic development policy, and the use of analytical tools (e.g., economic and fiscal impact analysis) to improve local decision-making, and the creation of advanced regional economic models for policy analysis.
