| research interests: | Dr. Erickson's research includes the development of infrastructure for veterinary telemedicine, a system for proactive herd health management for disease prevention from farm to market. The goal of this interdisciplinary project is to develop infrastructure to support wearable/remote monitoring devices that continuously assess the state of health in concentrated and distributed cattle herds. These systems will improve the ability of the livestock industry to react to and predict disease onset and its epidemiological spread, whether from natural or terrorist events. |
