Graphic Design
----------------------

Although you know exactly what you're going to say to your audience, you may need help in developing and producing a visually appealing printed piece that reaches your target audience and gets the response you desire. Our Graphic Design staff can work with you to create attractive and functional solutions for your projects that communicate your message effectively and within your budget requirements.

Providing Digital Files
Composition Preflight Checklist

If you are planning to print your project in black ink or one spot color a word processing program may be sufficient. It is recommended you use a good page layout program like Adobe PageMaker or Quark XPress if you plan to do offset printing, which involves more than one color of ink. Most software programs used at the Printing Center can run on both PC and Macintosh platforms. The Printing Center has a wide variety of Adobe Postscript fonts. Postscript fonts provided by our customers can also be used for their files.

Our designers are available to work with you from conceptualization until the finished product is delivered. Once a design is approved and all copy is finalized, you will be given laser proofs until all editorial changes are made. At this stage you will be given a digital color proof that has been color matched (profiled) to the press it will be produced on. These proofs must be approved and signed before actual printing of your job begins.

Important Notice:
----------------------
Proofs of all composition jobs are provided for client verification and approval. This is the best time to check for typos and to approve formatting, fonts, etc. Take your time and check these proofs very carefully, remembering that changes become progressively more involved and expensive to make further into the prepress process. Whether mistakes are yours or ours, catching them as early as possible will save time and money. While Printing Services staff makes every effort to make sure your project is correct, the customer is responsible for proof reading all copy. Mark all corrections clearly, check the appropriate boxes on the Proof Approval form, sign the form, and return all materials to Printing Services as soon as possible.
