Bindery
Your documents speak volumes about your company even before they
are read. Our bindery department works to efficiently balance
form with function, creating neat, professional materials that
endure
the demands of everyday use. From collating to cutting using
a variety of hand operated and automated machines the bindery department
is designed for precision and accuracy.
Upon completion of the printing, your job is headed for the bindery
and finishing. Printing Services bindery performs a wide variety
of finishing services including: folding, scoring, stapling, cutting/trimming,
drilling, perforating, saddle stitching, collating, padding, tape
binding, numbering, die-cutting, and shrink wrapping. A wide variety
of equipment is on hand to provide these services.
If Printing Services cannot provide a certain service in-house,
such as foil stamping, or tractor feed forms, arrangements will
be made with an outside vendor to bring your project to completion.
Printing Services staff can explain the options available and make
suggestions
to fit each customer's unique printing project.
Binding - When you need to keep your job together you have many
options for binding from spiral, comb, and Unibind, to saddle stitching
and perfect binding.
Folding - We can hand- or machine-fold your documents in a number
of formats, including double parallel, tri- and z-folds, and engineering.
Perforation - Perforation can be used to produce removable reply
cards, coupons, and reminder pieces. We can either hand- or machine-score
to meet the demands of your job.
Lamination - Bring us anything from menus and price lists to artwork
and posters - we can secure them for long-term use and enjoyment.
We can also shrink-wrap your documents for added protection.
Numbering - Sequentially numbering carbonless invoices, purchase
orders, or other business forms are an effective way to keep your
files organized and accounted for. We also number tickets, invitations,
and other unique documents.
Drilling - Holes of varying diameters can be drilled on any side
of a publication. Standard drilling requests
are 3-hole on the left side or 2-hole at the top.
This is only a few of the operations that can be performed by
our bindery department.
When the job is completed, our professional courier staff delivers
your completed printed piece to you on campus free of charge.
