About the Schulz family

Kirk Schulz, born in Portsmouth, Virginia, graduated with his bachelor's degree and doctorate in chemical engineering from Virginia Tech in 1986 and 1991, respectively.

Noel Schulz graduated with her bachelor's and master's degrees in electrical engineering from Virginia Tech in 1988 and 1990, respectively. She received her doctorate in electrical engineering from the University of Minnesota in 1995.

Noel and Kirk met as undergraduate students at Viriginia Tech at a volleyball game at the Baptist Student Union and were married in 1987.

They have two sons, Tim (18), a senior at the Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science, and Andrew (14), a student at Armstrong Middle School. Tim will be a freshman majoring in computer science at MSU and Andrew will be a freshman at Manhattan High School in the fall.

Biography of Kirk Schulz

Kirk H. Schulz was born in Portsmouth, Virginia in 1963. He was raised in Norfolk, Virginia, where he attended Norfolk Christian High School. Following graduation from high school in 1981, he attended Old Dominion University for 3 years, after which he transferred to Virginia Tech in 1984. continue
