MPA Advising

Upon admission to the MPA Program students will be assigned to a MPA faculty advisor for course related advising purposes.  At the present time, Dr. Bernick and Dr. Heidbreder are the primary advisors.  Dr. Franke has a limited number of advisees as well.  Students are required to meet with their advisor to determine the courses to be taken for the upcoming semester.

After the completion of nine hourse of coursework, students will select one of the MPA faculty members as the Principal Advisor and Chair of the student's Graduate Supervisory Committee. Students are strongly encouraged to meet regularly with their individual Committee Chairs in order to plan course work, to map out the Area of Specialization, and to make career plans.

Internships are usually planned in consultation with the Director of Gradaute studies.
