Jesse C. Johnson is an Assistant Professor of Political Science at Kansas State University. He received his Ph.D. in political science from Rice University in May 2012. His research and teaching interests are in the areas of international security, international institutions, and conflict processes. Much of his current work focuses on the design and influence of defense pacts in international relations. His research appears in International Studies Quarterly, Conflict Management and Peace Science, and Foreign Policy Analysis.

Jesse teaches undergraduate courses on world politics and international conflict as well as graduate seminars on international relations.
