What is the Man of Faith Scholarship?

The Man of Faith Scholarship recognizes two incoming male freshman at Kansas State University as being men that place their faith and academics in the forefront of their everyday lives. Phi Kappa Theta also recognizes faith and academics as the foundation for our fraternity. It is because these ideals are so important to us, we offer two $1,000.00 scholarships to two deserving recipients.

What are the eligibility requirements for the Man of Faith Scholarships:

The candidate must be an incoming male freshman at Kansas State University for the Fall 2010 semester. The scholarships will be awarded on the basis of 3 things: The candidate has displayed academia as a priority in his high school career. The candidate is a man of character and has exhibited that faith is of the upmost importance. The candidate has been recommended for the scholarship from various high school, church or youth group authorities showing emphasis on faith and academics. The candidate must also visit Phi Kappa Theta for an interview with a pre-selected scholarship panel. The scholarship panel will ask the candidate questions about his submitted materials and about his collegiate plans

How do I apply for the Man of Faith Scholarship?

It's easy! First, fill out the Man of Faith Scholarship application that you can download from this webpage. The application packet will also give you information on the letters of recommendation that must be sent in with your application. The application packet is due on February 1, 2010. The Men of Phi Kappa Theta will contact potential candidates to inform them of the available interview times. The interviews will be held on February 27, 2010 and March 6, 2010 at the chapter house in Manhattan. In order to be eligible to be selected as a scholarship recipient, the candidate must be interviewed on one of the two days. The scholarship recipients will be notified on March 27, 2010.

How is the scholarship money distributed?

Phi Kappa Theta will distribute the money into the recipient's Kansas State University's tuition account. The recipient will not receive the money, but will have $1,000.00 credited to his KSU account.

Do you have to be a member of Phi Kappa Theta to win the scholarship?

The scholarship winners do not have to pledge Phi Kappa Theta. However, it is important to note that the requirements for the scholarship reference faith and academics. Faith and Academics are two of Phi Kappa Theta's four ideals. The men of Phi Kappa Theta live by the following ideals on a daily basis: Spiritual, Intellectual, Fraternal and Social. These ideals are truley the foundation of Phi Kappa Theta and it's brothers.
