Click here to read Research Article Summaries Here at the PEAK-ED office we occasionally run across a research article that we think we’d like to share. We’d like to use this web-site to summarize some of these articles and to provide you with information about additional resources in the topic selected. Our goal is to make the steps from research to practice much more clear and efficient so that providers will have easier access to new ideas and programs and won’t need additional skills or money to try something new. Included with our articles will be suggestions for simple steps for assessment and evaluation. One of the primary reasons to evaluate changes that we make within our organizations is to see if they merit continuation because they work. Finding that something does not work as well as you hoped, or has unforeseen costs, is just as important–it tells you it is time to modify your change or to try something else. No less significant is the discovery that you have reason to celebrate some successes. In addition, by taking the time to confirm that your interventions are working, it can advance the profession. If you choose to adopt one of the practices suggested in this column please report your findings (positive or negative) back to our office so we can pass the word along.
