TWO K-STATERS NAMED PROFESSOR OF THE YEAR
Chris Sorenson, university distinguished professor of physics, and David Littrell, university distinguished professor of music, were both recognized by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching and the Council for Advancement and Support of Education in November. Sorenson is the national professor of the year for research/doctoral universities, and Littrell was named Kansas professor of the year.
K-State is the only research/doctoral university to have a national and state winner in the same year and the only Kansas school to have a national professor of the year.

HOW PURPLE GOES GREEN
A team of K-State architecture and engineering students set out to design and build a home that operates entirely on solar energy. The project was part of an international competition sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy.
The students traveled to Washington, DC, with their house to be judged in the solar decathlon. Although the house didn’t win and is back from DC, it may be donated to the tornado-ravaged town of Greensburg.
