University to build new residence hall and dining center

Kansas State University plans to construct a new residence hall and dining center on the west side of campus that will open fall 2015, and to repurpose a dining center and renovate two residence halls by fall 2016. Goodnow and Marlatt halls also will be renovated.

Undergraduate's research may show improvement in students' writing

The prevalence of texting and micro blogging has many debating whether students are losing writing and reading skills, but preliminary research by a freshman in business administration at Kansas State University shows that students' writing skills may have improved.

The Meadow at the Beach Museum

The Meadow of native plants is planned for the open space behind the Beach Museum of Art. Volunteers will broadcast seed on June 17, weather permitting.

Powercat Financial Counseling

Make sure your student is prepared to manage his or her finances during and after the college years. The Powercat Financial Counseling program has teamed up with American Student Assistance to provide students and alumni access to SALT, an online financial planning program. SALT provides free advice on managing money and student loans. It will supplement the university's existing Powercat Financial Counseling, which was established in 2009.
