GROUNDBREAKING NEWS
A groundbreaking ceremony at K-State’s newest campus in Olathe marked the beginning stages of the first building for the new campus. The $28 million National Institute for Animal Health and Food Safety, located in the Kansas Bioscience Park, will catalyze K-State’s efforts to increase technology and information in the areas of animal health and food safety and security.

RESEARCH FOR THE FUTURE
K-State’s Nobel Prize-winning university distinguished professor of agronomy Charles Rice and his researchers were awarded a $5 million portion of a grant promoting the further study of climate change and renewable energy.

HIGHER NUMBERS, GREATER DIVERSITY
K-State’s ever-growing enrollment numbers now include increased numbers of multicultural students. President Schulz highlighted K-State’s efforts to assist students financially in times of economic trouble and K-State’s recruitment of multicultural students as two of the many reasons for the increased numbers.
