A. Centrifuge tube following CsCl purification of oocysts. Oocysts containing viable sporozoites layer between specific gravities of 1.10 and 1.05 (arrow).

B. Oocysts and sporozoites following a 10 min exposure to 10% Clorox and a 90 min incubation at 37 C to allow excystation to occur.

C. CsCl purified oocysts. Looking good.

D. Oocyst wall layer following excystation and Percoll gradient centrifugation. The wall layer lies atop the Percoll gradient.

E. Sporozoite layer following excystation and Percoll gradient centrifugation. Sporozoites occur within a buffy coat above the pellet.
