How to Use This Table

The "% DFCT" row for each academic discipline is intended to show how much of a deficit (or surplus if the value is negative) exists between the average salaries of K-State and NASULGC faculty for each rank, in terms of a percentage. In the event that K-State instructors' average salary is greater than those of the NASULGC group the %DFCT will be a negative value - a "negative deficit" or surplus.

For example, if K-State Agronomy professors' average salary is $73,251, and NASULGC professors' average salary is $81,042 (for the same discipline and rank), then the deficit is 10.6%.

This means that for K-State professors' to equal those of their NASULGC counterparts, they would have to make an additional 10.6% over their existing salary.

Similarly if Animal Science instructors average salary is $43,048, and NASULGC instructors average $37,250 ( less than K-State), then a 13.5% surplus exists for K-State instructors over their NASULGC peers.
