The last day to turn in Budget Requests for the remainder of FY 2008 ( July 1, 2007– June 30, 2008), the beginning of FY 2009 (July, August, September 2008) and FY 09 ( July 1, 2008- June 30, 2009) Academic Competition Teams Annual Budgets will be Friday; March 7, 2008. The deadline is set fairly early in the spring semester because there is a limited amount of Student Senate sessions left before the new leaders take office and the SGA Allocations Committee dissolves, which usually happens in April.
It is also important to properly plan the submission of your Budget Requests. It typically takes 3-6 weeks to approve an allocation. If you are planning an event in January or February, you will want to submit the Budget Request Form much earlier than the required 28 days notice, suggest early November. Student Senate and the SGA Allocations Committee stop meeting the week before dead week and do not meet when school is not in session. If you wait until December or January to turn in your group’s request, it is very likely they will not be able to process your allocation in time.
Miscellaneous deadlines:
Budget requests are due at least 28 days prior to an event date, but can be turned in months before the event.
Requests for cash advances are due at least two weeks prior to traveling.
Allocations Committee meets every Sunday @ 4:00 PM in the OSAS Large Conference Room during regular school time.
College Council Allocations Committee meets every Tuesday at 9:00 pm in the K-State Union Room 206 during regular school time.
