OIP Ambassador Program

PURPOSE

The purpose of the Kansas State University Office of International Programs' Ambassador Program is to promote internationalization on campus by supporting international events and hosting international visitors.

SELECTION PROCESS

The selection of OIP Ambassadors is based on leadership, personality, and commitment. Students must be undergraduate, have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5, and be committed to serving at least two semesters as an Ambassador.

Applications will be screened and interviews conducted by a selection committee of Office of International Programs staff members and by Associate Provost.

DUTIES

Upon being selected, an OIP Ambassador will:

  • Attend mandatory monthly meetings and activities. The Ambassadors will meet once a month with the OIP Ambassador Advisor to coordinate the event calendar.
  • Assist the Office of International Programs with events such as the Vernon Larson Lecture Luncheons, New International Student Orientation, Study Abroad Fair, give campus tours for international visitors, and other special events. Ambassadors are expected to help organize and participate in at least three events each semester.
  • Maintain the International Buddies database to include entering new members, pairing applicants, responding to email inquiries, planning events, and representing the organization at various campus functions
