Special Programs Sponsored Students Program Coordinator

Kansas State University invites applicants for the position of Special Programs/Sponsored Students Program Coordinator. This position reports to the Assistant Provost in the office of International Programs.


Duties include:  Initiating, developing, and supporting Special International KSU Programs involving groups of international professionals and students. Includes negotiating program requirements and budgets with entities internal and external to KSU, as well as foreign universities, governments, and public and private corporations to provide special programs to professionals and students. Works closely with other units for the academic and logistical support of Special Programs. Works closely with the English Language Program and various academic units from the development phase to the implementation of the program.


Sponsored International Student Support includes collaboration with KSU units (i.e., cashiers office, Registrar’s office, housing and dining, deans’ offices, international and graduate admissions) to facilitate the recruitment and enrollment of international sponsored students and students studying at KSU under prestigious scholarships. Works with sponsoring agencies and governments to develop the relationships essential to increasing the number and quality of sponsored students.


Qualifications Required: Master’s Degree. Three to five years of experience working in higher education or comparable setting. Record of positive relationship building with university faculty and staff in a variety of disciplines. Broad knowledge of higher education as demonstrated in the application materials. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and positively with diverse populations.       


Preferred Qualifications: Three years of experience in providing service to international students, including graduate students. One year experience in student advising. Experience living, working or studying abroad. Foreign language skills


Salary Range:   $41,000 - $48,000


Conditions of Appointment: Term Appointment (Benefits Eligible)
